“Google My Business” : Dealer Vlog

On this edition of the Sol-Lux 5, we will be focusing utilizing Google My Business to help increase your internet presence and increasing local search to help grow your business and connect with new prospective clients.

Good Morning Everybody, welcome to this week’s Sol-Lux 5, you can see me down on the corner it’s Zak, with my initial video for you guys. One of the things that I’m tasked with here at Sol-Lux is a lot of our internet marketing and getting us found online. So I wanted to go through some quick tips. I have audited most of your online presences and I have noticed that there is some opportunity to claim Google my Business listings. Now what is a Google My Business listing? If you were to go and Google the name of your company. We will use my wife’s dental practice as an example. If you were to google my wife’s company, you would see some results here, some reviews on the left hand side where I am circling my cursor, you would also see my GMB listing. Every single one of you if you have a physical location has one of these listings, if you have not claimed it yet right down here where it says suggest and edit or own this business it will say claim this business, and you click on that link and fill out a bunch of information about your business. Google will send you an email that approves you after they confirm that is your location. This is such an important piece because Google serves this up in what they call their “local pack.” You don’t need to know the details of that, but the GMB listing is huge, huge part of this. You really want to make sure the information that you populate in the GMB listing is accurate. It gives people the information they need, when you are open and closed, what the best phone number is to reach you at. ,I’m going to click on I own this business to go into my listing. This is what you see in the GMB dashboard, there are all kinds of different things that you can do here. If you are on the home page you can see snapshot of everything, your reviews good and bad here is a bad one right here we got 47 weeks ago, and we do our best to respond to all of them. All this to say that this is where people are looking when they are searching online. They are looking at the GMB listing, they are looking at your reviews. They are looking at how you respond to negative and positive reviews as well. As you go down the left side of the profile, you can post different things to the profile, you can go to the info page. Here is where you adjust everything about your business, hours, you can add holiday hours, your phone number. Different ways that people can get in touch with you. You can also add links with info about your business. You can also list the types of services that we offer, which is very important to be detailed about, because if people are searching those terms, for example awnings, gutters or whatever services your business offers. If you don’t have those dialed in, there is less chance you are going to be found online. There is also all kinds of reporting, we don’t have time today to go in-depth, but you can see who found you through the GMB profile and what actions they took. They is a place for you to respond to your reviews. Make sure you are responding. You can receive messages, you can also add photos. All kinds of stuff that can make you look much more professional and findable online that will allow customers to engage with you. As you can see we have some Halloween pictures here we have pictures with customer and patients, pictures with staff. So I will post in the notes on the blog the actual steps on how to claim a GMB listing and if you are interested in either updating the listing you have already claimed or getting your new listing, that’s where you can find it.
