The Sol-Lux Eos uses the sun to charge the internal battery! No wiring or external power necessary!
The Sol-Lux Awning features a solar panel on the top of the awning cassette providing 100% of the power necessary to drive the unit. This means you do not have to manually charge the battery or mess with electrical wiring to power the awning. The solar panel will automatically charge the battery for you ensuring that your awning will never run out of power. Furthermore, because the Sol-Lux is not connected to your home electrical system, you will not have to pay any more money to power your awnings!
Studies show that awnings reduce the amount of heat entering your home which in turn reduces the load and the energy needed for your A/C unit to keep your home cool and comfortable. The cost savings vary based upon where you live or where your home is situated but according to the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA), the average savings is $200/annually. "Awnings can directly affect energy use by simply blocking the sun. Heat gain through windows is one of the main reasons why buildings need air conditioners. In some climates you can save 20% to 25% of your cooling energy by using awnings."
